Job security refines confidence and assurance in harvesting what we have planted that can't be measured by time as a job can be in both long and short term.
In a broader scenario, it further entails capacity to perform the job well. Basically, all employees undergo application before hiring. And hiring requires trust and ability toward efficiency. Different industries maintain certain standards in retaining an employee. Once the latter gets passes the standards, job security is 95% guaranteed.
Can you say that job security leads to complacency?
Justifying complacency, it may speak of expertise, confidence and experience mastering a craft and resolving arousal of situations. Some people may contradict the use of complacency with the topic, because the drive for excellence and progress are downsized based on common notion.
There is no stagnant water. I am looking at complacency as testing the water for a bigger project. Alongside with it, tension and anxiety may make or break a matter. Nonetheless, it requires time to end up with complacency.
On the other hand, business economy is one of the threats that agitates security. To set an example, there was a news in the U.S. about a pilot who was affected by the economic downfall leaving him no option but to receive half of his paycheck. The impact upset his finances creating a domino effect in his family and life style. Nonetheless, he decided to stay in the company out years of service and job security. Complacency can build up options and pacify tension.
JOB SECURITY VERSUS JOB INSECURITY
To reiterate, business economy causes job insecurity in a manner of layoff. It is inordinate to discuss how the stock market affects business and government added by the environmental factors on how it contributes to rate of employment.
Apparently, job insecurity impacts psychology such as inferiority complex and contributes to emotional disturbances. Sad to say, but it may lower ones self-esteem which is the rule of the thumb in performance. Determining the effects, the mentioned disturbances may manifest in reinforcing a task trying to prevent and cover layoff.
Job insecurity may further hinder the capacity of an employee to express ability and growth, looking at the employees side.
Moving further to the advancement today compared to yesterday, given the technology and learning from experiences, how can employment be a constant dilemma when excellence drives for perfection and it is almost a miracle.
My point is there will always be an avenue for growth and getting close to it. Provided all the aid in gathering information and methodology, it is impossible to reach the peak in learning nor options which goes the same with employment.
